CLONING PLANTS 101
GOOD MOTHERS MAKE GOOD CHILDREN
1 2 3
STEP 1: SELECT A GOOD HEALTHY TOP(HIGHEST CONCENTRATION OF HORMONES) FROM THE MOTHER, THAT IS NOT TOO LARGE & SNIP OR PINCH IT JUST BELOW THE NODES(WHERE THE LEAF STEM MEETS THE MAIN STEM).
STEP 2: SNIP OR PINCH LOWER LEAVES(YOU DON'T WANT ANY LEAVES BELOW THE WATER LINE) & PLACE IN CUP THAT IS WRAPPED IN ALUMINUM FOIL(IF LIGHT GETS IN ROOTS WILL NOT GROW).
STEP 3: ASSUMING THAT THE BABY HAS GOOD SUNLIGHT & ENOUGH WATER IT WILL BEGIN TO ROOT IN 10 TO 14 DAYS(IF NO SIGNS OF SIGNIFICANT ROOT GROWTH TRY AGAIN). ONCE YOU SEE ROOTS OVER 1/2" PLACE BABY STRAIGHT INTO MOIST SOIL(DON'T TOUCH ROOTS & MINIMIZE THE ROOTS EXPOSURE TO SUNLIGHT WHEN PLANTING). SIMPLY POKE YOUR FINGER IN THE SOIL TO MAKE A HOLE & GENTLY FILL IN AROUND STEM(INSERT STEM AT LEAST ONE INCH PAST ROOTS TO BE SAFE).
IN PHOTO 3 YOU CAN SEE THAT I STARTED WITH A TERRACOTTA POT SHAPED LIKE A COFFEE CUP & SAUCER. IT IS CURRENTLY COMPOSED OF 4 CLONES & WILL MOST LIKELY RECEIVE AN ADDITIONAL 3 CLONES OVER THE NEXT 2 WEEKS(NEVER KNOW HOW I'M GOING TO FEEL). I PREFER CLONING 2 BABIES AT A TIME SO THAT THE PLANT HAS TIME TO ROOT, GROW & EVOLVE BEFORE DETERMINING WHERE I MIGHT WANT TO PLACE THE NEW ADDITIONS. TAKE YOUR TIME & ALLOW YOURSELF TO GROW WITH THE PLANT. YOU'LL KNOW WHEN IT'S DONE. IT WILL BE A LIVING ILLUSTRATION OF YOUR TIME SPENT TOGETHER. YOU ARE WHAT YOU DO. ENJOY.
